Surgery, Family Sues: A string of poor decisionmaking by medical providers at
Puget Sound VA cost one veteran his life recently after failing to provide
urgently needed heart surgery within a reasonable amount of time. The agency
delayed surgery over 15 days after initial onset of symptoms with the veteran
dying after 10 days.
