An eventful thirty-eight days have passed since I last updated this blog.
Regarding the pandemic, there have been about 11.8
million new cases of COVID-19 in the world (41.7% increase), with about 206,600
(22.5% increase) new COVID-19 deaths in the world. The average number of new cases per day in
the world was about 310,400. The average
number of deaths per day in the world was about 5,400. There have been about 1,765,000 (26.8%
increase) new cases of COVID-19 in the USA, with about 29,000 (14.8% increase)
new deaths in the USA. The average
number of new cases per day in the USA was about 46,500. The average number of deaths per day in the
USA was about 760. There have been about 38,500 (26% increase) new cases of
COVID-19 in Pennsylvania, with about 640 (8% increase) new deaths in
Pennsylvania. The average number of new
cases per day in Pennsylvania was about 1,013.
The average number of deaths per day in Pennsylvania was about 17. There
have been about 5,390 (15% increase) new cases of COVID-19 in Philadelphia,
with about 86 (4.8% increase) new deaths in Philadelphia. The average number of new cases per day in
Philadelphia was about 142. The average
number of deaths per day in Philadelphia was about 2. By comparison, there have
been about 20,040 (54% increase) new cases of COVID-19 in Nebraska, with about 130
(30% increase) new deaths in Nebraska. The average number of new cases per day
in Nebraska was about 527. The average number
of deaths per day in Nebraska was about 3.
There have been about 3,248 (67% increase) new cases of COVID-19 in
Lancaster County, Nebraska, with 8 (36% increase) new deaths in Lancaster
County, Nebraska. The average number of
new cases per day in Lancaster County, Nebraska was about 85. The average number of deaths per day in
Lancaster County, Nebraska was less than 1.
At this rate (average of 760 deaths per day in the USA),
we can expect to suffer another 278,000 deaths over the next 12 months, at
which time there may be a safe and effective vaccine available to all Americans
and/or a therapeutic available for those with the worst infections. Added to the 223,839 deaths already
experienced, the total would then be 502,000 (over half a million American
souls – more than the total KIAs in WWII and Korea combined). Infection rates appear to be out of control
in 38 of the 50 states in the nation. The
USA leads the world with the highest total number of infections to date of over
8 million. Cases per 1 million
population are 25,161. Only Israel,
Peru, Chile, Qatar, Panama, Kuwait,
Bahrain, French Guiana, Aruba, Andorra, and Vatican City have more cases per 1
million population than does the USA. The
states with the most cases per million of population are: Louisiana, Florida,
Mississippi, Arizona, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Iowa,
Arkansas, South Dakota, and North Dakota.

Check out the countdown (less than 16 days) to the 2020
election on November 3rd:
This may be the most important election in the history of
our nation. It may decide if we remain a
democratic constitutional republic or continue in the direction of becoming a
kakistocratic kleptocratic fascistic oligarchic plutocracy/autocracy. I have already voted by mail but dropped off
my ballot at a collection location.
Become aware of who is running for what office and how to
be ready to vote for your local, state, and federal candidates. For example, check this out:

It has sometimes been difficult to classify the items in
this blog according to subject matter.
That is because many issues are so inextricably interrelated. I have tried to organize the
articles/information/links into the following categories:
Veterans – info on former military members, the
consequences of their service, etc.
Criminal Justice and Racism and Ageism and other
discrimination – info on dehumanization, etc.
Economics and Coronavirus – info on the pandemic, its
economic impacts, etc.
Economics and Corruption and Healthcare and Education –
info on capitalism vs. socialism, etc.
Ecology and Pollution – info on climate change (greatest
existential threat to life on earth), etc.
Politics and Coronavirus – info on how the political
structure is responding to the pandemic, etc.
Politics – info on power struggles between parties and
special interests, etc.
Terrorism – info on the middle east, other geopolitical
topics, etc.
Military – info on DoD, Army, Air Force, Marine Corps,
Navy, Coast Guard, National Guard, etc.
General and Miscellaneous – info on spirituality, music
videos, etc.
This is probably the last blog update that I will
publish. I hope you find the material in
this update to be informative and of interest.
