Congress Rips ‘Shameful’ VA For Deliberate Cover-up Of
Bad Doctors: Veterans Affairs is blasted by Congress for its continued failure to
police itself by reporting bad doctors and other health care providers to
national boards to protect veterans. Veterans lives were put at risk, and VA
promises to clean up its act, likely in the same way it has promised to protect
whistleblowers, which has proven to be a joke.

VSOs Support John McCain Reforms Aimed To Advance VA
Privatization: Some VSOs are in support of new legislation from Senator John
McCain that will advance the present push for VA privatization to ensure
veterans have a choice in who provides their medical care. If passed the new
law will create greater options for veterans seeking community care over VA
centric care, a move that will help many disenfranchised veterans fearful of VA
health care and the agency's employees.

VA Attorneys Can’t Fire Or Punish VA Executives Correctly
– The Case Of ‘Dirty D’ And Other Agency Misfits: While veterans are harmed by
failures of VA attorneys to follow the law, VA executives reap great rewards
including keeping their job with attorney fees paid whenever these similarly
situated VA attorneys fail to follow the law. Numerous failures over the past
few years in terminating VA executives reveal not just bad leadership but also
a core failure within the Office of General Counsel to effectively do their job
without costing taxpayers boatloads in attorney fees and other compensation due
bad executives when attorneys muck up due process.

Waste: Veterans Affairs Blew $1.1 Billion (Or 5,000
Doctors) On Failed IT Projects. VA
continues to defy logic and reason. The contractor responsible in part for
failure to modernize VA electronic health records was then awarded sole-source
contract to do the same without competition at enormously high prices. After VA
wasted $1.1 billion in the previous failure, simple math reveals the funds
could have paid for the hiring of 5,000 medical doctors and other clinicians to
help veterans get access to timely health care to reduce wait times. But since
VA does not learn from its mistakes...
